Re: (TFT) Intentions

Let me see if I can make myself plain.

The meer attempt to do so is gonna piss some of y'all off.

I hear a call for simplisity.

Simplisity is what I'm after.

To assume that because I speak of joules should somehow mean that I intend to add, or complicate is unfair.

I am pointing out that Strength as defined by TFT ITL, is very quantifiable.
We have all kinds of data for Str 30 these days.

Consider...
"The use of cinematography for kinesiological studies of athletes and industrial workers has become commonplace. An important recent development in the study of human motion is the use of cineradiographic techniques.

In time, advances in techniqut may make it possible to record the complete sequence of musculoskeletal movements rather than onlv a fraction of them. A fascinating new parameter was opened up with the invention of the electronic stroboscope by Harold Edgerton. This instrument, which is capable of exposures as short as one millionth ol a second, can record in a series of instantaneous photographs an entire sequence of movement. This apparatus seems particularly promising for analysis of the various sequences of skilled movement."

In 1977 the use of cinematography for kinesiological studies of athletes and industrial workers was becomeING commonplace.

By 2007 Television programes focusing on basic kinesiological studies of athletes were becoming commonplace.

I'm trying to see if anyone has a clear idea of this basic unit in the game.

To have a clear idea of what 1 point of Strength means in any realworld unit, basicly means that I can convert building matereals data into TFT St.

This means that I can provide building actions to players.

I feel these types of options help to address a second thing I'm hearing, which is combat is too deadly in TFT.

These days I can't help playing the generic fight music from Star Trek in my head when looking at the Melee Action Table.

Why not some peaceful options?
Constructive, some might say.

And to say I'm adding too much, Buildings are inherient in TFT. Look at a map.
I'm simply trying to define them via the game itself.
St for buildings has a lot of implications.
I fail to see how it makes things more confusing.

I don't mean this to offend.
I am trying my best to accept honest critisim with honest reflection.
But if anything insults me "personally" about a RPG, it's when I bring up an angle that it's obvious the GM hasn't considered and my idea is shotdown by proclimation.
OWKA, making it up as they go along.
How fair is that?
The implied assumption is, "I'm smarter than you".
Intellectually you may as well tell a player to shut up.
Satasfying for the GM, insulting to the player.

If someone want's me to play a "programed" adventure, why would I need a GM?
Just hand me the adventure.

To give the illusion of "interactivity" to a campagne that isn't actually there has nothing to do with simplisity IMO.

During play, the GM should only be affecting the gameworld in the same maner as a player, through the Characters.

To be a little ant in Zeuses sandbox strikes me as unintresting.
Simple is fine.
Just keep it fair.
