Sort of.
I ran a game, started them all at 32pts, and when it wound down (due to the gang doing stufff like marrying and moving) the party was all between 45 and 50 pts, and i just ran the game as written.
with 50ish pts you can armor up, and still hit pretty regularly. The two fighters went totally different routes, one st 14 dx 20 IQ 14 was fencing with a broadsword in 1/2 plate and a tower sheild, the other st 25 dx 15 IQ 9 was swinging his great axe one handed, while wearing chain and carrying a small sheild lightly. Good times. The wizard, theif/bowman, and martial artist were a few points behind those guys, but could generally hold their own too.
So, a street fight with a drunken 32pt bravo would not be much of a challenge. But by the time they were that strong they were spending months in the mountains embroiled in a Gargoyle civil war, and trying to clear out an infestation of hymenopterans in support of a local mining town. Or heading off to China to prevent a zombie apocolypse for the emperor. So there were threats aplenty. And they could not keep any hirelings. 35pt NPCs would hire on, and a few brutal combats later, look to beg off, because they did not realize how deadly things would get, so the guys had to care for their own stuff.
I can see, in theory, how PCs might all start to look alike and seem invincible at high stat totals, but at least for us, it just never happened on the way to 50pts.
In my experience, the game as written holds up great through 50 pts, I would run that game again tomorrow if the guys were to drop over.

Has anyone run 'high level' TFT campaigns? You know characters in the 45 to
60 point ranges? I'm just curious how the system faired at that point (I
imagine it brakes pretty severely, but I have no direct experience).
If so, any stories to share about what happened and how the game handled?
Cheers,Matthew
