A Canon is also a musical form, involving two or more voices playing
the same or similar melodies, but offset by a number of beats or
measures such that the melody harmonizes with itself. Examples include
Pachelbel's Canon in D and "Row, Row, Row, Your Boat".
There really should be a song called "Pachelbel's Cannon"...
