Precisely my point - different games and different results - for different preferences.

And shuriken are an under appreciated weapon in TFT.  They are a great way to pepper a wizard (unless he has reverse missiles - yikes), and yes you can hrow them by the bucketful, at varying dex adjustments.

More relevant to Jay's way of thinking, I'd add that in
GURPS, someone who makes 8 Fast-Draw rolls and forgoes
any active defenses, could throw 10 weapons in 5 seconds,
assuming 10 thrown weapons were placed appropriately for 
your fast-draw training.

And in TFT, there is the possibility of throwing, what,
12 shuriken in one turn?
