Re: (TFT) Hello! I'm New

gee, maybe all that junky renaissance art by Italians I have will finally be worth something, too. Leo Vinci, Tishan, etc. Joe, thanks for running the server! Let us know if you ever need some help or $$. I haven't had a chance to try DT1 again, but I'm going to ASAP. I'll post to the group how it goes. I have already up-armored some of the characters a point, and switched a weapon so that I've two longbows, and two armored fighters with 2d6 weapons (short sword and mace). When I hit the room with four light archers shooting twice a turn, my remaining characters got wiped out. At least now I've something to make hurt them with. The bears weren't too bad, but one lucky hit did smack a lot of points of a grunt that got finished off by the archers in the next room.

I think with the way the weapons work, there's a HUGE difference for each point of armor taken, especially in the 3-4-5 hit band. You have armor in that zone, a 2d6 weapon and a adjDX 10+, and you are much more dangerous than most characters.

One thing I noticed for a DT1 newbie, and I should've noted it myself, is that if you scrutinize the fighters on the fighter table, you can see that they are all reasonably to well-equipped, and in the 25-27 point band of experience. So assuming you're going to run into 2-4 of them at a pop, it's only reasonable that if you plan to survive successive encounters you need to outnumber and out-point the opposition, assuming you play them as good as possible. Actually, this leads me to another thread...

There's an old school renaissance going on? Wow. Maybe someone will
start buying my art again!

And welcome to the list Bob!
