Re: Why not close down the Brainiac TFT forum?

Joe,

Please don't shut down!! This list provides a space for things that will never make the official TFT: Neil Raito's Metals, The City of Clipportage, Various characters and beasties (that are from other systems) and any number of Rick Smith's rules.

I may not use all the optional rules listed on this site but I do enjoy reading about them, and discussing them even if they will never make TFT officially.  Also I have played almost every adventure posted to the site most of these would never have seen the light of day.  You helped keep TFT alive!

Even when TFT was alive and kicking, house rules and home brews were being made, so Steve reacquiring the rights to TFT doesn't invalidate this site.  Now I may be wrong on this, but I doubt that Legends of the Ancient Worlds from Dark City Games would not be around if not for this website or at the very least you provided a ready market for their adventures.  Mr. Dew can comment more on this than I can and I in no way mean to insult or lessen the great work that Dark City Games does.

Now rules like the you posted 20 years ago about pulling a character out of HTH which I modified, should be posted to SJG as I think it adds to the game without breaking the rules or adding complexity  (In fact I did post that rule to Steve's website giving you credit for the original idea of course).

Thanks,

I'll admit that I considered it after SJG re-acquired TFT and started the
forums, but I chose not to because 1) it takes virtually none of my time
or bandwidth to run and B) I still like mailing lists as opposed to forums.

The list isn't going to disappear any time soon.
