Re: WotR - Escorting the Ring with army units.



It is not quite that simple.

I’ve seen several games where the Ring is moved from 
Rohan to Minas Tirith with an army escort.  But the 
Ringbearer has to leave armies behind, because there is 
no way those armies will get into Mordor.

For that matter, if an army is defeated in army combat, 
all characters escorted by the army are automatically 
captured.  So sticking Frodo with a 5-7 cavalry unit is not 
without risk.

That does not usually help until the mid to late game.
