Re: (TFT) New Armor.

This is a revision of my rules published on Ty's
web site under the Advantages of Great ST. Rather than using
tabs, I used spaces with a mono-spaced font. That does not seem
to have worked well for you.

I am not saying that these are playtested or that I think
that people should adopt them. They were intended as a discussion
point for those people who thought that plate and 1/2 plate had too
large a DX penalty.

The biggest change / innovation from the origional article
is that the various types of chainmails are 'lesser' versions of the
full armor. (They don't stop full vs. all types of damage and they
have a smaller MA penalty than the 'full' version of the armor.
I should have put a version of chain between 1/2 plate and plate
but couldn't think of a good name.

I have also lowered the Threshold numbers so that they
go up by one for each armor type rather than 2. Why? Because
some players at 20 or so ST (who never intend to get to 30 ST)
thought that half and full plate would be some what more attractive
with the lower threshold and no-negatives.

Notes:
1)	Elves & other small light races are -2 adj MA to the listed value for
ALL armor types so their no negative # is +2. The one exception is Elvenmail
which gives all other races a -0 adj MA and Elves (and other small lithe races)
just a -1 adj MA.

2)	Thin Wep. Special. All types of Chain mail stops only -1 hits vs
stilettos & darts, and only -2 hits vs rapiers, picks, arrows and other impaling
weapons. Normal humans now have a 7 MA in chainmail. Generally the
various types of chain don't have as heavy a movement penalties as other
armor that stops that many hits.

3)	Giants are +2 adj MA to the listed value for ALL armor types, so
their no negative # is -2.

>Rick. I'm afraid I don't understand your chart. Can you lay it out
>differently so I can see a label next to each number along the armour line.
>Also, what is Thresh? I assume NO - means no DX penalty? What is Thin
>Wep.?
*** See article (Adv. of G. ST) for rules for these. Thin weapons
are defined above.***

>I like the idea of arrows going thru the rings. How do you handle 1/2 MA 7
>in combat? Does it go back down to 3MA?
*** One half of a 7 MA is 3.5. You can move half your movement
or less (i.e. 3 MA) and charge attack, etc. ***

>I like the idea of Orc armor. Anything special for Goblins?
*** Have you seen my Standard Goblin Armor in the article on
Fine Armor on Ty's web site? ***
