   I had some thoughts along the same vein.  Damage is damage is damage.
Hit locations and specific damage effects are a little bit too much chrome
for me.
   But I /do/ like the idea of a thrown spell which does straight damage
like a missile spell.  Mmmm . . .  but on the gripping hand one might as
well use an actual missile spell.

   Yep!  Never have!  Although I have discarded characters for one reason or
another; usually because they're not much fun to play . . .  usually because
they don't have a ship!  8^)  (I'm currently playing a /Traveller/ character
who started as a lowly Scout Lieutenant, gained his own command, worked his
way up to a /fleet/ command, and will probably end up marrying Princess
Ciencia and becoming Emperor of the Imperium!)
