Actually, you can enclose a space with as few as _four_ planes, the
classic tetrahedron 'd4' shape. Since we're effectively 'cutting' these
areas, and 'pasting' them into Cidri, that last plane might be 'above',
with the point going down into Cidri (meaning mineral riches and/or
detritus came with the terrain swatches), or the plane could be 'below',
which would mean if you dig down deep enough, you always hit Cidri,
whatever it really is...

Now, a _clever_ mageguild, finding traces of mithril, maqzalic,
ozymandium, or other fantastic metal in one of these Mnoren 'plates',
might research a means to pierce or disable the Gate. Or it may well be
there is _no_ lower gate, and that all wells go back to the original
'donor' planet. I think I'd prefer there to be a lower gate, since
piercing such a thing would allow a 'controlled' piercing of the Gate,
while the airborne gates, once down, effectively open the way forever.

Hail David & Thorn,

Another possibility is that a gate is not flat but concave, like a hemisphere (It does say "up to 3 meters in diameter." If this were the case you could have two gates enclosing the area. OR how about making the gate spin. Then you could have one gate in constant motion doing the same thing.

Hail Melee,
John Paul
