Re: (TFT) Orc Swill?
Speaking as a doctor, the risk of overdose form alcohol in itself is pretty
rare, to the point that I wouldn't have it as a risk from drinking - or
maybe a yearly Luck roll - like a job.
18: Die in alcohol related accident
16-17: lose 2d6 weeks secondary to alcohol related accident - either broken
limbs, hepatitis, delirium tremens or whatever.
. There are a few celebrate cases of choking on one's own vomit but they are
rare. Mostly, people will die from drunk driving or such.
I would say liver disease affects ST, DX ( cerebellar damage) and IQ (ARBD -
alcohol related brain damage) in about equal amounts - roll (1-2/3-4/5-6 for
one attribute affected each year - but none for the first 8 years or so.
In all honesty, I can't say that I'm too fussed about addction/drugs except
as a plot device for the GM, rather like the Jem Hadar in DS9 or the guild
steersmen in Dune. I don't find it 'gels' well in fantasy unless in
something like CoC or Vampire.
There's alomst no reason for a PC to use substances unless there is some
benefit (like berserker mushrooms or something). I see too much drug related
misery in day to day life to want to see it too much in roleplaying.
