Re: (TFT) Is a sweeping blow physically cutting thru your target?
I wouldn't use it, since I think slashing a throat from ear to ear is every
bit as effective as lopping the poor sods in half, but I would not
discourage you or anyone else from using this variant. Hell, I've never
actually seen a sweeping blow performed so who's to say, maybe you DO have
to cut everyone in half...:-) And until I can find three volunteers to stand
in front of me to test the practical aspects of sweeping blows with my
Austrian Masterpiece war sword or my broad axe, I don't think I'll ever know
for sure :-0
I would be content with the progressive adjDX penalty I suggested in an
earlier post (i.e. -2 DX first target, -4 second, and -6 or -8 for the last
one) as being a suitable abstraction of the possibility of a blow being
stopped by previous target(s). Besides being (purely in my own mind) more
realistic I just think its simpler then worrying about damage done, etc.
Just a bit of a cleaner rule. The best rules are those that model reality to
the degree desired and are simple and elegant.
