Marty In most heroic fantasy, the hero is usually a warrior and often faces off against the evil wizard who's much more powerful (metaphysically anyway). But, through wit and sheer determination, our hero overcomes his powerful foe to win the day.
Marty,My first impulse is that the trick for the hero is to get the wizard alone. Without any of his body guards. Most of the time that is the realy hard part that needs wit and determination.
Example from an actual campaign.Character finally encounters arch nemeiss evil wizard in an alley, alone. Wizard summons a bear. Hero shoots around the bear and hits wizard with a crossbow bolt. End of fight.
