Another idea for Ty's system:
Emphasized attack and defense could be added as modifiers to X, the success
margin needed to score a hit. Fighting defensively could increase the
margin for people attacking the defender, and for his attacks against
others. Fighting aggressively could reduce it. The amount of emphasis
possible could be based on DX, Talents, and/or equipment. Equipment? Well
it should be easier to parry if you have something besides bare hands to
parry with, and a larger shield should allow a higher defensive margin
against front & shield-side attacks (so someone with a large or tower
shield could get a higher required margin to hit (for both sides) than
someone without one, by cowering behind the shield).
