Re: (TFT) Multi-hex figures question
Just like ITL says they are. I always thought this was clear that
Ogres are 3-hex like giants.
Yeah, I've always played them as 3-hex but I guess I've been
reconsidering them lately.
See Advanced Melee, the combat example, where a troll appears, and is
shown on the map as a 1-hex figure.
Well, it says that the Troll "is a small Troll." And in DT2 entry 89 I
found it shows a ST 40 Troll as a one hex figure so you are correct
that they are 1-hex.
I guess my thinking about Ogres is: what makes them different than
Giants other than the slightly lower IQ and restricting them to only
clubs and little or no armor? The description that the Ogres were the
forebears of the giants sort of makes me want to leave them as being a
missing link to giants so to speak. Smaller than Giants but definitely
the same size as the much stronger Trolls. That leads me to tend to
make them 1 hex creatures, even though ITL says "for all practical
purposes, an Ogre is a very stupid, very vicious giant". If this is
true then they hardly deserve a separate entry in the creature
descriptions, they should have just been lumped with giants as a
footnote. Or maybe I'm just bored at the moment and thinking about this
way too much.
