Joel,

     Making a boat is always a top priority of inmates on a prison island.
Even deadly enemies.  Once the vessle pulls out though...

     One of the beasts has monster followers and wants to recruit a player.

     Let the players find a dead guard with a cache of summoning gems.  Only
the next week do they discover he was a plague victim.  Any one who handled a
gem 3d6 vs ST and character is immune or take 3d6 damage that heals only 1
point a week.
