He worked for nobility. The animal representations are symbolic for various
concepts. The elephant is symbolic of stability, especially in movement. You
will not find any footwork in Foire more complex than normal walking. The wolf
is symbolic of seeking openings. The lion is symbolic of confidence,
especially
the confidence that one's techniques will be successful, and therefore may be
acted out without hesitation, and fully.
