Re: Dodging arrows (was: Re: (TFT) Targeting Horses and their Riders)
An English longbow arrow would have gone through Japanese armor at 50 yards.
Howard Hill (the archer who did the shooting in "The Adventures of Robin
Hood") did a test with armour at over 100 yards he was not only able to
penetrate the armor, he was able to hit specific parts of the armor. He said
it would have been easy to target those areas even in motion, now admittedly
he was probably the greatest archer of his time and probably used modern
arrows. But I would easily suspect that an English archer at Agincourt could
have done the same thing at 50 to 75 yards.

And there's alos accounts (both European and Japanese) of guys coming
out
of a battle with nary a scratch, but with enough arrows hanging out
of
their armour to make it difficult to swing.
