Alex, some folks play TFT by email/shared desktop using Cyberboard
( http://cyberboard.brainiac.com ) and some gameboxes I built which are
at http://tft.brainiac.com/pbem.html

One of the best TFT experiences I've ever had was a run of GrailQuest via 
email.
