(TFT) Edward's Enhanced Staff & Lesser Enhanced Staff spells

Hi Edward,
If you want people to be able to find your stuff in the list archives,
it is good to keep the subject line updated. (Done above.)

I (in general) like the idea of this spell. I have two versions of
upgraded Staff spells my spell list (IQ 24 --> Staff or Mastery &
IQ 32 --> Staff of Awe). I may write them up for the list sometime.
The main reason I added my two spells is I wanted greater
versions of the staff spell at higher IQ levels.

I agree with David Bofinger's comments. Saying why you have
written the rules in a way (what problem you are trying to fix), is
a good idea when you make new rules for TFT. If the reader
says, "He is right. TFT really WOULD be better if that was fixed."
people are more likely to look at your work carefully.

The rules of the Enhanced Staff should say cost is reduced by
10% rather than giving examples and hoping that the user
correctly deduces the rules from the examples given.

I do not think that the small magic items are overpowered
except for the Flight ability (which I think should be removed).
The ability to fly at all is a huge benefit. If you wanted to keep
it at some level, allow the flight spell only to work when you
are going straight down which prevents fall damage. If you
do NOT fix this, your speed MA says you get +1 MA including
Flight, and then later it gives you Flight. So are you saying you
can actually fly 2 hexes per turn? That is the way I read it.

The armor enchantment should be given a name like "Thick
Flesh". Then people would know automatically that it won't
combine with the other flesh spells since no flesh spell combines
with any other.

I might dump Mage Sight ability and change the Dark Vision
ability to say that it gives you +1 DX bonus to reduce penalties
due to Darkness (but does not help in total dark). The reason
for this is the other abilities do not cost fST, and I would rather
keep it that way for all of these abilities.

If you make the changes I suggest, the IQ requirement could
be reduced to say 24 or so. This would make it more likely that
people would ever be able to take it. (Says the man who has
made an IQ 32 spell, "Staff of Awe", which no PC or NPC in his
campaign has ever taken.)

Warm regards, Rick.
