Hi Peter, Thanks for the comments. Yes, the basic idea was that it is much easier to make normal physics work more strongly than to weaken them. This is reflected in the IQ of the two spells, the multiplier and the cost.
I thought about making these spells a thrown spell which affects a single figure (Like the D&D spell Dimension Anchor), but most of my spells that affect how magic work have ended up as environmental spells so I stayed with that dynamic. Also I like the idea of a large area delineated with rune stones having these rules inside it.
Warm regards, Rick.

Hi all,
A couple more environmental spells for TFT. If you are not
familiar with my environmental magic, see the link below.

I am wanting feedback before I add these spells to the spell
list.
(I haven't really studied, given much thought to, or tried to use the
Environmental Magics. I'm in the midst of a bunch of stuff, but I will
try to remember to give them more of a look after I emerge.)
However it seems like these two new spells mainly tweak the balance of
the affected spells, and so I would tend to mainly look at the effect of
E Barriers: Weaken on those spells and the implications of that.
The main one I notice is that it makes tactical gate creation easier. My
campaigns have seen tactical actions around creating gates where no one
was expecting them, and this makes that stunt potentially more easy,
though not, all told, by a whole lot, considering the IQ and fatigue
requirements of the spell itself. I'd just go through all of the effects
and double-check that I'm cool with whatever uses I can think for them.
It doesn't seem terribly unbalancing due to other IQ 18 spells that are
nice to learn instead, and the 10 fatigue cost. The duration effects
might be potentially more interesting for some specific
purposes.
It of course adds another layer to potential industrial demon issues, if
a GM hasn't already houserule-tamed those.
