I can't remember who's story it was, but I remember one of the GM who
had made elaborate plans for a dungeon.  Everything about the game relied
on the players getting in, but the party looked at the gate, and decided to
keep walking on and not enter.  It threw the GM completely off, because he'd
had nothing else prepared.

The moral of the tail was that the players are not always going to do
what the GM thinks!  Sometimes the GM can work around it, sometimes it
just leads to "rocks fall, everybody dies."
